I originally created this account for...testing purposes, to ensure that a certain group's join function was working properly (my first account having joined by way of an invite).
However, I didn't want to create a throw-away account. I wanted to create one that there was a good chance I would use. Yet I couldn't see why I needed two accounts.
Now I know. My original account will continue to be my main account, but I will use it for my fan work alone.
The new account, this one, will be used for my original work. So if you've seen the three chapters in my 2010 NaNo excerpt over on the other account, or the two version of my graphic design project... Well, I've moved them over here.
I may eventually post other work on this account, including a journal entry providing a brief synopsis or other of the NaNo. At least after I retrieve the version on my blog and try to improve it a bit.
Or I might post the other excerpt that's also on my blog.
And maybe one day I'll attempt to draw some characters. Or write a few short, standalone stories that I have no other plans for.
But for now, this account just has the five items.
I haven't decided yet if I will re-fave and/or friend anyone from the other account. More to the point, I haven't decided if I will migrate any of those friends or faves, and remove them from the old account.
It might be appropriate to do so, particularly for any original work I faved, or fellow NaNo-ers I set to watch.
But.... I don't check this account very much, so I'll likely miss a lot if I migrated things over.
You see, the fan-fiction account is the primary account. It will receive the most work, the most frequent updates, and the most points, if anyone is inclined to donate. (I'll have to "donate" any points the new account receives, anyway.)
If you'd like to see my fan-work, the account is at
And for now, the fan-work account is the only one with faves or friends.
Why is the fan account the main account? Not because I do more fan work than original, though I certainly seem to, of late.
No, the reason is simply that I do not post a lot of my original work. Not yet. See, some of the magazines I've considered won't reprint work that's been published elsewhere, and apparently posting online counts as being published....
Although if I do post that other excerpt, it would be useful to have a Premium Account, just to add the "Featured Gallery Folder" widget to my profile. (A gallery folder full of nothing but first chapters or one-shots.)
But I don't see much other use for a PA. Not on this account, at least.

Let's try it over here, too. Some of the answers will be identical to those on my other account, others are relevant to what I actually use this account for.

How long have you been on DeviantArt?
As it happens, 4 years and some-odd months.
What does your username mean?
Short-hand for Side Quest Publications, which is the officially legal (according to the IRS) kinda-sorta "business" I own as a writer. "Side Quest" just came from a gaming-themed story I was working on at the time, and it happened to stick as an internet handle. "Publications".... should be a bit more obvious. ;)

Hi, there, and welcome to my deviantArt story.
It's a lot like the story I put on my main account http://fav.me/d7ubh2u so I won't repeat most of that here.
Instead, the story for this account, the new details, are very simple: I went to college for Computer Science degrees, and when I see a troubleshooting problem, sometimes I can't help but try to solve it... with mixed results, naturally. ^^;
Now, in this case, the "troubleshooting problem" was a friend having difficulty opening up mem

The original version of this journal can be found on my other account.
This is the new version of that journal, and includes some changes I made when I uploaded to one of my websites. The pitches themselves, however, are still technically first or second drafts.
Another version can be found on my personal website, as can a contact form for anyone who wishes to speak to me anonymously or without requiring an account login... such as BBC Books or any Who/Torchwood authors willing to answer questions.
I'm posting it here on my "original fiction" account because, even though I don't have the authorization to publish any of my Who fics (yet), I

I have student loans. I need money. (Don't we all?)
I have a website with assorted donation options, and books and other things that I am trying to sell listed on that site. And I am...still...looking for a decent job.
Meanwhile, I would like to find other ways to earn money.
I've thought about commissioning, and here's what I've come up with:

I don't draw. Not very well, at least.
Sometimes I get a picture coming out the way I see it in my head. Sometimes I even get one looking good in spite of not looking like it does in my head. Usually I don't manage either one.
I buy commissioned artwork, or
